VICTORY LAP

Sandy beaches, Swahili cuisine, old historic buildings, esteemed culture and religion need I mention more? This are just but a few of the fascinating things you'll find in the coastal region specifically; Mombasa. I'm a city girl so knowing that I would study in Mombasa was a whole new experience for me I can't say I was that exited, I honestly just wanted to get this done with and go back to Nairobi I guess when you've been staying somewhere for more than a decade it literally becomes a part of you.

The Technical University of Momabasa, that was where I would be spending my next couple of years, and I did. I still am actually. The reminisce of my life in university is what most of us call a perfect imbalance, somewhere in between good and bad but we all make the best out of everything, well at least some of us do. Walking into another different place far from home was actually more homely than I had expected.  And I had all the freedom I would ever wish for at the palm of my hands but yet again I'm not one who just makes rational decisions. I'm not saying I'm perfect because, I had my fair share of fun, literally.

I was the last one to be admitted in my class so I had to do a lot of catching up once I attended my first lecture. It was weird I was the only one who didn't chat alot with the rest of my classmates, it's funny because till date I don't I guess some habits just die hard. Everyone comes to the university with a certain kind of perspective, an ego of them being smart, them being grown enough to make their own choices contrary to the facts we're none of this. I was none of this and I was a victim too. You see, my life wasn't anything near what It is now. One thing happens to mould you for the next one in line. Looking back I can't say I was as mature as I am now, strong, valoured and determined. I owe it to myself  and of course to the most pure love anyone could wish for.

University life isn't just about a lecture instruction, assignments and projects. It's all about a journey that explores and endures individual struggle, pain, perseverance and willingness.
